The Traceelords As a wise man once said: you don´t just become a musician, you are one! If you asked the members of The Traceelords seperately about their motivations, you would be getting corresponding answers and it would be like having asked a family of four about the reasons for their right to exist and their functionality.

A rock band is not that much different from a family; as we know some of them even choose the same last name. The Traceelords don´t need that, they are brothers in spirit, and since Hagen can even outside of Northrhine-Westfalia be seen as a part of the infamous Ruhr Area in Germany, the quartet knows what down-to earth and strong company mean. Otherwise you could not explain, why their third album is entitled „The Ali Of Rock“. Get up! Again and again... The Traceelords have made their experiences, not always good of course. They have learned a lot by playing gigs and tours with Whitesnake, Alice Cooper, Dirty Americans and J.B.O. and were and still are very annoyed by the very common opinion that solid Rock´n Roll has to come from overseas, or maybe Scandivia. But Hagen/Germany? From a band that features an ex-member from Germany´s legandary Trash-band Sodom? „The Ali Of Rock“ completes a trilogy: The first album „Sex, Money, Rock´n Roll!“ (2001) was the soundtrack to its title, and yet the band was not afraid of experiments („Daddy Cool“), which continued on „Refuse To Kiss Ass“ (2004); shorter hair, but songs and lyrics more in-your-face („People My Age“).

Now in 2006, album number 3: again self-written, self-produced and with guitarist Christof Leim the family welcomes its newest member. The sound? Well, experiments are definately not a thingof the past. What was „Fuckin´ Grow Up“ on the debut album is now „Room For Improvement. But don´t be scared! The Traceelords are not bitter, fun and entertainmentare still the main ingredients, after all the band´s name has not changed! Theundertone is neither melancholic nor melodramatic, because the best stories are written by life itself, the opening song „My Evil Girlfriend“ needs no further interpretation, after hearing it once you just know why The Traceelords are a rock band that grabs you by the throat from the very first second. Straight forward, enthralling and not a tiny bit typical German they rock, roll, stomp and pet through a record, that has way more depth than its predecessors.

Is it the age of the band and its members, or the increased self-confidence gained on many successful tours, or simply the logical, musical evolution? Probably a lot of all these things. It´s the little things on the album that make it even more special and top it all off: As on stage bassplayer Slick takes over the microphone from singer/guitarist Andy Brings on two songs („Silver Linin“, „Watch Me Run“), and drummer Haan Hartmann´s skills go way beyond just a simple backbeat... 14 songs, one philosophy: You can´t bring us down! All of life´s obstacles must be overcome. Call it a cliché, but at the end of the day the reruns are the only constants in life. The Traceelords are constant and consistent. That mix is just hard to find these days. Just like the fact that the right four guys find each other. You don´t become a band, you are one...
